VINTAGE Sheffield Silver Plated Footed Gallery Tea Drinks Serving Butlers Tray

A nice English silver plated gallery tray. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks - all you need is a butler to carry it into your drawing room! Oval in shape, measuring 18 x 12 inches and standing roughly two and a half inches tall. The pierced rise-and-fall gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls and foliage surrounding a blank central cartouche. The tray is raised up on four scroll feet for that extra touch of grandeur.

Offered for sale in very good vintage condition with no damage, just minor signs of age and wear. It sits flat and the surface shows the usual marks from use and some age spots/pitting around the inside edge of the plateau - see photographs. Freshly cleaned and polished but with some patina remaining. A good, solid tray suitable for regular use.
