For your consideration is a VINTAGE BIRD & BLAKE DUCHESS PLATE 65-Pc OLD ENGLISH SILVERPLATE EPNS FLATWARE SERVICE for SIX with CHEST. This is a fine, rare and well-appointed cased set in wonderful condition. The set comes to us in the Old English pattern and consists of. 6 Dinner Knives 9-1/4 w/Bone Handle (Blade: Sheffield Stainless). 6 Luncheon Knives 8-1/8 w/Bone Handle (Blade: Sheffield Stainless). 6 Fish Knives 7-7/8 w/Bone Handle (Blade: Super A1 EPNS). 6 Dessert Knives 7-1/8 w/Bone Handle (Blade: Sheffield Stainless). 6 Salad/Dessert Forks 6-5/8 w/Bone Handle. Carving Set w/Bone Handle (Blade/Tine: Sheffield Stainless).

This is very high quality plating incised with: "EPNS SUPER A1 DUCHESS PLATE", the forks and spoons marked with their respective plate thicknesses, i. Dinner forks and two serving spoons: 20DWT DOZ (assumed 20-dram weights per dozen pieces), Luncheon Forks and soup spoons: 14DWT DOZ, and teaspoons: 7DWT DOZ. The fish knife blades are silver plated and marked: "Duchess Plate EPNS Super A1 " The balance of the knives have stainless blades marked: Duchess Brand Sheffield England Stainless Steel. Except for the back of one dinner knife that has a tiny pit (shown in one photo circled in red), all pieces are in excellent condition and bone handles being bright, sound and showing no cracks or shrinkage. This beautiful, very compact and stylish footed canteen is in lovely condition with minor wear that includes a few extremely fine scratches and a very small chip on the top at the back left rear corner, as per pic.
