Here's an antique c. Late 19C silver plated tea caddy by Christofle. It has an intriguing chevron footprint and its entire surface is adorned with acid-etched and hand-engraved decoration.
The 4 panels on the front each depict a different figure in traditional Persian attire. There are etched floral urns on the back side, and the rest of the surface of the piece is decorated with intricate designs. Unusual form & wonderful decoration make this a fine addition to your tea caddy collection. Christofle mark, mark of "BD", other small marks I don't know.
DIMENSIONS: 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/8" across the bottom. Good antique condition with minor wear to the silver plate, as shown in photos. Please refer to the description for the most accurate information.
